Chefs, Colleagues & Partners,
As you know it’s been a challenging time. Many restaurants, hotels, clubs, and small business have been affected by COVID-19. We are also aware that many of our members own and operate businesses that will be greatly impacted. Please, if you can, pick up food at restaurants, and caterers – that are now offering curbside pick-up or have food delivered, if that service is available.
We decided last week to postpone our ACF Annual Golf Classic. As of right now, we plan on rescheduling in June. We also have our “Day at the Ranch” outing planned for April 21st. We will be moving this date once the Certified Angus Beef deems it ok for us to come out to the Ranch. While this is very unfortunate for everyone involved, it has become clear that the well-being of our Chefs, their families and our partners is more important at this time.
As a community of hospitality and culinary professionals, there are so many different sources of information out there, and it seems to change daily, making it difficult to decide what is the right thing to do. We have been advised to follow the guidelines put out by the CDC, so as an organization, this is what we must do. We will continue to monitor the recommendations put out by the CDC and take all precautions to ensure the health and safety of our members.
The Executive Director has been & will continue will to monitor communication in regards to how COVID-19 will impact our future. The GRA Georgia Restaurant Association is lobbying in behalf of the entire hospitality industry. We are in constant contact with them for all the updates that effect all of us.
We are aware that quite a few of our members fall into the high-risk category, so please reach out to them and check on how they’re doing. We know they sitting at home feeling anxious. A phone call could make a difference. Also, please fill free to reach out to ACF Atlanta Chefs Association; Director@ACFAtlantachefs.org
